A special team of 6 people from Officevibe left the comfort of their office in Montreal to cross the Atlantic Ocean for a unique 10-day challenge.
The goal? Innovate drastically—Period.
The team traveled 5,913km, rented an appartment in downtown Barcelona and immersed themselves for 10 days of intense innovation.
On day 1—while brainstorming for ideas—they noticed that Slack’s mission was perfectly aligned with Officevibe’s. They also saw that Slack was encouraging companies to build bot integrations.
Their new goal was then clear: Build the VERY BEST Slack bot to make people happier and more productive at work.
On day 4—after completing one of the most important parts of this yet-to-be-named Slack bot—the team went to an FC Barcelona soccer game to celebrate.
After witnessing Lionel Messi in action, they had a flash…
The team saw that Messi (AKA “Leo”) was not only the best player of all time… but he was also admired by millions of people for his calm, humility and team spirit.
With this clear inspiration in mind, Leo was quickly designed and built. A few days later, he spoke his first words (in Slack) on Dec 11th, 2015.
But this is only the beginning. Leo — with his trusty cousin Slackbot—still have many ideas to reinvent the world of work, so stay tuned!

Nope. Leo the Officevibe bot is a third party Slack integration. It is not created by, affiliated with, or supported by Slack Technologies, Inc.
Adding Leo to Slack is free for the first 14 days, but to access the manager reports after that, there is a small monthly fee.
Officevibe is the engine that powers the collection of feedback and the real-time reporting. Leo is the front-end in Slack to help maximize participation.
